National RHY Grantees Training Site Visits

This year, grantees who sign up to participate in optional site visits receive the opportunity to visit two RHY programs. Site visits are scheduled for Monday, November 13th, and Wednesday, November 15th.

The first optional site visit is to Synergy Services. Synergy provides fully integrated programs such as crisis hotlines, emergency shelter, transitional housing, therapeutic services, advocacy, mentoring, and violence prevention programs to youth and families throughout greater Kansas City.

The second optional site visit is to reStart. This non-profit organization has served more than 28,406 homeless individuals, including 11,174 children and youth since 1981. Their mission is to provide housing and supportive services for homeless youth, families, women, and men to end homelessness in their community.

A $5 donation will be collected for each attendee who registers to attend a site visit. Monetary contributions will be donated to site visit hosts. Site visit registrations are limited and fill up quickly. If site visits are full by the time you register, you may wait in line on-site to fill empty seats. To participate, attendees must select the site visit option during registration. Participants who sign up to attend must check in at on-site registration prior to departure to obtain your site visit ticket.

RHYTTAC recognizes the excitement regarding the site-visits and the opportunity to see how grantees operate programs in their communities. This excitement must be balanced with the reality of the burden placed on grantees providing services to youth and families during these visits. RHYTTAC partners with host sites to identify the number of visitors that can safely and ethically be accommodated to ensure the confidentiality and continuation of effective services during the visits. This number will be necessarily small and therefore, not everyone will have the opportunity to participate.
