Welcome to the 2024 Runaway and Homeless Youth (RHY) National Grantee Training! This annual event features training opportunities, networking, and workshops for Family and Youth Services Bureau (FYSB) funded RHY grantee recipients and members of the youth services field including youth and young adults. Attendees will experience engaging keynote speakers, interactive workshops, in-person discussions, and networking opportunities with federal staff, RHY grantees, youth and young adults, as well as national and community-based partners.

We are thrilled to unite with colleagues from across the country to connect and exchange creative approaches for integrating RHY programming into community-based initiatives. At this year’s training event, in Atlanta, Georgia, we will be commemorating the 50th Anniversary of the Runaway and Homeless Youth Act (RHYA). Created in 1974, the RHYA authorizes community-based runaway and homeless youth projects to provide temporary shelter and care to runaway or otherwise homeless youth who are in need of housing, counseling, and aftercare services. This year's theme is:

Join us in celebrating 50 years of the Runaway and Homeless Youth Act (RHYA) - five decades of action, impact, and legacy. As we honor this milestone, we reflect on the remarkable leadership of communities, organizations, and individuals for their unwavering dedication to addressing youth homelessness. Together, we commit to elevating the voices and experiences of youth impacted by homelessness or housing instability. The 2024 RHY National Grantee Training will highlight innovative practices and transformational approaches that celebrate the power of young people and embrace their leadership. Throughout this year’s training, we will acknowledge the resilience and strength of the youth we serve and the successes of our partners to build a legacy toward our mission of preventing and ending youth homelessness.
