New eLearning Features & Trainings Now Available

The Runaway and Homeless Youth Training and Technical Assistance Center (RHYTTAC) has made the following improvements to its new eLearning and Community of Practice platform:

Downloadable Certificates of Completion
To Download Certificates of Completion for any completed training in the new eLearning Platform, first, click on the Achievements icon at the right end of the menu banner on the top of your screen. This opens the Achievements page. Scroll down to a training that you’ve completed (indicated by a blue check mark). Directly below this, click on the “Download certificate” link. The Certificate will download as a PDF on your computer.

The name that will appear on your certificate will be your username. If you would like your full name to appear, please change your username in the eLearning Platform to your full name. To do so, click on the Profile icon in the upper right corner for your screen. Then select Settings from the dropdown menu. Change your Username to your first and last name. NOTE: This username is now what you will use to log into the platform.

Transcript of Completed Trainings
To see a list of all trainings you’ve completed in the new eLearning platform, click on the Profile icon in the upper right corner. Then select User Profile from the drop down. Here you’ll see a full list of the trainings that you’ve started/subscribed to, the status of completion, and if you’ve passed. Save this webpage as a PDF or print it.

Transcripts / Certificates from the old Learning System
If you need a transcript or certificate from trainings completed in the previous Learning System (prior to 12/31/2020), please email your first and last name to [email protected] and we will provide this information to you. (These include trainings completed from 2009-2020.)

Understanding the FAFSA^® Form to Support Homeless Youth and Other Vulnerable Populations

Representatives from the U.S Department of Education will provide a free training for grantees, counselors, and agency professionals to provide insight into the federal financial aid process and filling out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA^® form). Attendees will learn best practices about the application along with tools and resources to assist unaccompanied, homeless, and foster youth as they prepare for college. There will also be an interactive chat to share best practices and discuss barriers along with a demo to share what to expect when filling out the form.

Enrolling Children and Young Families Experiencing Homelessness in Early Head Start

Building strong working relationships with community partners is key to supporting children and families experiencing homelessness. Early Head Start (EHS) programs can prioritize enrollment for pregnant and parenting young families by building partnerships with local Maternity Group Homes (MGHs). For EHS programs with a local MGH in the area, these partnerships increase critical supports to young families experiencing homelessness.

In this webinar, learn about the MGH program, funded by the Administration for Children and Families' Family and Youth Services Bureau. Discover how one MGH and EHS program are working together to serve the needs of pregnant and parenting youth.

Topics for the webinar include:

• Learning about the MGH program and ways to enroll more children and young families experiencing homelessness
• Discovering the challenges and unique needs of young families experiencing homelessness
• Educating staff about reducing the stigma of homelessness and providing trauma-informed approaches to young families and their children experiencing homelessness

The Family and Youth Services Bureau (FYSB) is now hiring a Supervisory Adolescent Development Program Specialist. This position is located in Washington, DC.

• Serving as the Director to the Division for Optimal Adolescent Development (DOAD) as key advisor on technical resources with considerable program authority and accountability for management, both technical and administrative of the division.
• Ensuring that assigned programs are operating effectively and are in compliance with Federal laws and regulations and is responsible for financial oversight, planning, coordination and activities of staff.
• Providing key management advice and assistance to grantees and pregnancy prevention youth serving professionals, organizations, the department and the general public concerning FYSB efforts and the department's youth initiatives.
• Overseeing a variety of complex services, to include data collection, compilation, and analysis relative to the formulation of national policies for adolescent development programs, including the teen pregnancy prevention programs.
