June is Pride Month

Pride Month is a time of celebration. Members of the LGBTQ+ communities gather globally to relish in the joy of acceptance, authentic self-expression, visibility, and positive change. The resistance and rebellion that Pride month emerged from are still active today as allies and community members continue to seek equality and protections against discrimination. While we celebrate, we also acknowledge the change makers that began a movement that has greatly impacted the queer community.

In observance of Pride Month, the Family and Youth Services Bureau (FYSB), Runaway and Homeless Youth (RHY) Program, and the Runaway and Homeless Youth Training, Technical Assistance, and Capacity Building Center (RHYTTAC) have prepared a list of resources and tools to assist programs in increasing their knowledge and understanding of the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Queer (LGBTQ) community and how systems impact this specific population.
