SAMHSA Efforts to Support Youth Experiencing Homelessness In a March 2019 report, the Congressional Research Service identified family conflict and family dynamics, a youth's sexual orientation, sexual activity, school problems, pregnancy and substance use as primary risk factors for youth homelessness. This population accounts for most in need of behavioral health services. This presentation will aim to increase the audience’s awareness and understanding of the role that Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) plays in addressing homeless youth from the perspective of behavioral health.
