Going Upstream: Youth Homelessness Prevention Webinar

Wednesday, May 12, 2021: 12:00pm
– 1:00pm ET

A public health approach underscores that the more “upstream” we go to tackle a problem, the greater the population-level impact we can have. This webinar will show how this applies to addressing youth homelessness. It will provide examples and prompt discussion on the roles that RHY grantees can play at different levels of prevention in collaboration with other institutions.

The presenter will share:

  • evidence and practical strategies on why prevention and a cross-systems approach are critical
  • ways to apply a public health approach to prevention in youth homelessness
  • examples of evidence-based prevention initiatives

The webinar will include opportunities for RHY grantees to share their perspectives and experiences with prevention and early intervention.

Runaway and Homeless Youth Training and Technical Assistance Center (RHYTTAC) welcomes Dr. Matthew Morton (pronouns: he/him/his) a Research Fellow at Chapin Hall at the University of Chicago. Dr. Morton is an expert in youth homelessness, youth empowerment, and evidence-based practice.
